The Parable of the Starfish
There were thousands of them.
Scattered all across the beach—arms flailing, drying out in the sun.
A whole army of starfish, washed up after the storm.
A man walked along the shore, stunned by the scene.
And then he saw her.
A little girl.
Kneeling in the sand.
Tossing one starfish at a time back into the ocean.
One…
Then another…
And another.
The man walked over and said,
“There are miles of beach and thousands of starfish.
You can’t possibly make a difference.”
Without even looking up, the girl picked up another starfish, gently tossed it into the waves, and said,
“It made a difference to that one.”

I love that story.
It teaches us the power of the ONE.
The power of small and simple things done consistently.
After she threw that starfish, more people joined her.
Together, they saved thousands of starfish.
And it all started with that little girl.
Have you ever felt like what you're doing isn't enough?
I get it.
We set these massive goals and think we're only successful if we help hundreds, thousands, or millions.
We miss the value of helping just ONE person.
Even with this newsletter...
Sometimes I think,
"Man, I wish I had way more subscribers. Is it even worth writing this?"
But then ONE person replies saying,
"Hey Zack, thank you. This helped me."
Or my company helps ONE client get results that transform their business.
And suddenly, it all feels worth it.
Because the value of serving ONE person is MASSIVE.
There's a scripture that says,
"By small and simple things are great things brought to pass."
We often discount the small stuff.
But in reality?
It's those tiny, consistent actions that create HUGE results:
Going a little bit further for your clients (hello, referrals!)
Making one or two more sales calls every day
Consistently checking in with your employees
These small acts stack up.
They compound.
They TRANSFORM.
When you're grinding through something difficult, wondering if it's worth going above and beyond...
Remember that EVERY good action matters.
Even when we can't see it, our actions create ripples.
We help someone.
They help others.
The impact spreads and spreads in ways we can't even imagine.
Anne Frank said,
"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."
I LOVE that.
It doesn't matter who you are, where you live, or what you've done in the past.
You can do something good TODAY.
One small action to help a client, inspire someone, teach something valuable.
Those small actions stack, build, and grow until you're not just throwing one starfish back into the ocean...
You're inspiring an ARMY of starfish-throwers.
So today, I'm inviting you to embrace the power of small and simple things done consistently.
What's that ONE small action you could take today that might create a ripple effect?
Do that.
Then do it again tomorrow.
Before you know it, you'll look back and see the ocean of change you've created.
Keep throwing starfish,
Zack
