This Thanksgiving, my family all came to Arizona. My parents, siblings, their families – having an awesome time playing sports, laughing, eating good food. Can you imagine Jesus rushing from task to task, frantically checking boxes on his to-do list? Me neither. Instead, I picture him completely focused on the person standing right in front of him. Present. Intentional. Calm. He was FULLY THERE with whoever needed him in that moment.
